In other news: Christians and Muslims both have cause for war in Nigeria

Leaders of several Catholic Bishops in Nigeria are releasing a statement urging national leaders not to end the recognition of the civil war dead, or to bring about changes in any standing policy, as Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen are pushing for in the Senate.

Also, Vox has a great column arguing that Donald Trump was right to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, a position he previously said was about $1 billion to $1.6 billion in military sales for nothing, nor could his administration really do anything else with the money. Here’s one of his tweets in which he accused then Secretary of State John Kerry of grossly inflating the number.

The Christians and Muslims of Nigeria are at war and the level of persecution has intensified more in recent years than it has at any time since 1991, when the country stopped counting religious killings. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) sent a statement to The Washington Post under the headline: “The Christian War Continues, Just Like the Gulf War.”
