Rapper celebrates his child at memorial service in Los Angeles
Rapper Nick Cannon has offered a verse for the grieving mother of his four-month-old son, Kado, who died last week.
Cannon revealed that Kado died of an unknown illness, which came just two months after Cannon gave birth to a son, Moroccan, in January. In an Instagram post last Thursday, Cannon announced that his firstborn had passed away.
“You did it baby, I love you, I don’t know if it’s fair to you yet but here’s to you in your whole timeline and I won’t stop hoping and praying you see all of the love and support that you’ve been given since this unimaginable loss,” he wrote.
“Prayers for my baby boy Kado, I miss you already.”
On Monday, the family held a memorial service in Los Angeles to celebrate the life of the little boy. Cannon posted several moments of the service on Instagram, including a prayer said by his aunt.
Cannon’s sister, Gina, also shared a loving tribute. “This is going to be tough for me to write,” she wrote. “You were my first brother when I was 11 years old and your imprint on my heart will never go away. You were meant to be here.
“Kado was a beautiful baby. You shared the last joy of your life with me until you passed away. You looked to me as the father figure I never had. I love you. I’m devastated. I’m heartbroken. And no matter what happens, I will never forget the light that you were to me and your light will be forever in my heart.”
Just four months ago, Cannon had shared a snap of his son and said: “5 months … I give it everything I got … to hold, cuddle, & love a baby.”
